‘A Tribute to Alan W. Jankowski’
The first project of 2017 by Author’s United is aimed to publish an anthology of poems as a tribute to a great writer Alan W. Jankowski. Alan W. Jankowski was a member of our AU family since its inception in 2013. His contribution in the last four years as a volunteer and a writer – will always be remembered by AU family.
ABOUT Alan W. Jankowski:
Alan W. Jankowski who took his final flight on 10th March, 2017 on angel wings that lifted him to his eternal heavenly home. Alan W. Jankowski was an award winning author with contribution of over one hundred short stories, plays and poems. He was author of ‘I Often Wonder’. His stories were published in various journals including Oysters & Chocolate, Muscadine Lines: A Southern Journal, eFiction Magazine, Zouch, The Rusty Nail and a few others. We Shall Never Forget(9-11 Tribute)’is a very popular poem composed by Alan W. Jankowski and starting with the Tenth Anniversary of the tragic event, 9/11, this poem is used extensively in ceremonies in United States.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
1.) Whether you are published poet or yet to be a published poet – we welcome you to contribute for this project. Poems can be submitted around any topic such as peace, love, inspiration, meditation, humour, childhood, parenthood, seasons, fruits, nature, kindness, serendipity and et al. We want poetry that adds value to one’s existence, or that showcases a happier side of someone’s struggle, or a thought provoking piece to curb social evils. You can send prose poetry, free verse, dramatic monologue poems, or rhyme but it has to deliver a message to the readers. Let readers see what you see while writing your piece of work!
2.) Your poem should not exceed 30 lines. Please send UNPUBLISHED WORK ONLY. No simultaneous submissions are accepted at Author’s United. We expect our contributors to send us edited work though we will proofread before publishing. Any suggested edit will be communicated to the poet for confirmation and consent.
3.) Your submission must include a brief bio of the poet not exceeding 300 words. Please do not send us links to your websites or blogs or Facebook/Twitter pages.
4.) Your submission should be in word format (.doc/.docx). Do not paste as a part of your email message. Do not send us (.rtf) or (.pdf) documents. Any other file type will be rejected. We request our contributors to adhere to following formatting conventions.
· Margins - (Top, Bottom, Left and Right – 2cm)
· Font Type – Times New Roman
· Font Size – 14
· Line Spacing – 1.5
· Text Alignment – preferable justified. If you have any specific text alignment like ‘center’ then please do mention it in your email in particular.

5.) Selected authors will hold the publishing rights of their work.
6.) The book will be self-published / traditionally published in both “Paper Back” and “Kindle version”. There is no hidden entry fee or remuneration involved here.
7.) Last Date of Submission : 1sth May, 2017. Poets will get confirmation of their selection and any suggested edits by 15th May, 2017.
