CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS FOR POETS
‘A Tribute to Alan W. Jankowski’
The first project of 2017 by Author’s United is aimed to publish an anthology of poems as a tribute to a great writer Alan W. Jankowski. Alan W. Jankowski was a member of our AU family since its inception in 2013. His contribution in the last four years as a volunteer and a writer – will always be remembered by AU family.
ABOUT Alan W. Jankowski:
Alan W. Jankowski who took his final flight on 10th March, 2017 on angel wings that lifted him to his eternal heavenly home. Alan W. Jankowski was an award winning author with contribution of over one hundred short stories, plays and poems. He was author of ‘I Often Wonder’. His stories were published in various journals including Oysters & Chocolate, Muscadine Lines: A Southern Journal, eFiction Magazine, Zouch, The Rusty Nail and a few others. We Shall Never Forget(9-11 Tribute)’is a very popular poem composed by Alan W. Jankowski and starting with the Tenth Anniversary of the tragic event, 9/11, this poem is used extensively in ceremonies in United States.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
1.) Whether you are published poet or yet to be a published poet – we welcome you to contribute for this project. Poems can be submitted around any topic such as peace, love, inspiration, meditation, humour, childhood, parenthood, seasons, fruits, nature, kindness, serendipity and et al. We want poetry that adds value to one’s existence, or that showcases a happier side of someone’s struggle, or a thought provoking piece to curb social evils. You can send prose poetry, free verse, dramatic monologue poems, or rhyme but it has to deliver a message to the readers. Let readers see what you see while writing your piece of work!
2.) Your poem should not exceed 30 lines. Please send UNPUBLISHED WORK ONLY. No simultaneous submissions are accepted at Author’s United. We expect our contributors to send us edited work though we will proofread before publishing. Any suggested edit will be communicated to the poet for confirmation and consent.
3.) Your submission must include a brief bio of the poet not exceeding 300 words. Please do not send us links to your websites or blogs or Facebook/Twitter pages.
4.) Your submission should be in word format (.doc/.docx). Do not paste as a part of your email message. Do not send us (.rtf) or (.pdf) documents. Any other file type will be rejected. We request our contributors to adhere to following formatting conventions.
· Margins - (Top, Bottom, Left and Right – 2cm)
· Font Type – Times New Roman
· Font Size – 14
· Line Spacing – 1.5
· Text Alignment – preferable justified. If you have any specific text alignment like ‘center’ then please do mention it in your email in particular.
5.) Selected authors will hold the publishing rights of their work.
6.) The book will be self-published / traditionally published in both “Paper Back” and “Kindle version”. There is no hidden entry fee or remuneration involved here.
7.) Last Date of Submission : 1sth May, 2017. Poets will get confirmation of their selection and any suggested edits by 15th May, 2017.

ATOMS OF HAIKU VOLUME II - SUCCESS STORY

Success is always measured in numbers and also on its impact on one's progress in life. AOH Volume II started as a blast and after two months its still on the top 350 all time bestseller Haiku book on Amazon.com....

Well it is not only due to the hard work put up by the AU team but mainly due to the wonderful contributions from amazing authors from all parts of teh world. As we always say, 
"All parts become one whole"...

AU  will not only conduct its first elections but also bring new projects in upcoming months, so keep your fingers crossed....

‘Nothing is Mystery’ - Call for Submissions



Many greetings on this Eid ul Fitr from the team of Author’s United. Here comes the Eid Gift for you,

Author’s United (AU) welcomes all authors for its latest project,

‘Nothing is Mystery’

After three successful anthologies about love, peace and Hiaku, we want to bring some chill to your bones. It’s about adding another flavour to our Trifle. This time around we are looking for ‘Mystery/ Detective / Thriller’. Mystery is the necessary evil in our lives. We do not want to be thrilled but yes some of us simply live for thrill. This anthology is for those ‘Thrill Lovers’ who loved being thrilled. Bring out the mysteries, thrillers and detective stuff hidden in some corners inside your consciousness. Stop being afraid and start spreading the fear. We know how much you want to be detective, just muster your courage, bring out the detective in you and solve a crime in your tale.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

1.)    Fictions / True stories can be submitted in any format including Short Story, Poetry and Prose   Poetry etc. 
2.)    Word Limit is min – 1000 and max – 5000.
3.)    Your submission must include a page around ‘Author Information’. But this is not a part of the submission’s word limit. Please provide a photo along with your author details.
4.)    Your story should be in word format (.doc). Just to make it easy for the project lead – Hammad Khan, we request all the contributors to send the story as per following formatting guidelines. Though the project lead might change it, depending on the publisher’s requirement.

5.)    The submission must be written around the subject, which is described as the “Mystery/ Detective / Thriller”.

We will do a final check for the submitted stories to avoid incorrect or inappropriate content. Professional editors will be assigned to this anthology. In case, any change is required we will revert the submission to the author before amending them.
7.)    The authors will hold the publishing rights of their work.
8.)    Prefer to send unpublished work only.
9.)    The book will be self-published / traditionally published in both “Paper Back” and “Kindle Version”.
10.) Submission Date: First Deadline – 13th Sep, 2015.

Call of Submissions for 'Atoms of Haiku'

After the success of our two anthologies, Author’s United is proud to announce call for submissions of our latest project – ‘Atoms of Haiku. As apparent from the name, Author’s United is adding another dimension to their portfolio by publishing an entire anthology of Haiku, a Japanese form of micro-poetry. Our ‘Atoms of Haikuwill be published in both Paperback and Kindle format.
                                                                      
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES: 


1.) We are only accepting Haiku (up to 15) for ‘Atoms of Haiku. Please do not send senryu, haiga, hokku, haibun and tanka. Unpublished means we are accepting haiku that is not submitted to any other blog or journal or Facebook pages/ groups or haiku contests or on personal websites. If your haiku is under consideration – please do not send it to us.
2.)  We are not adhering to “traditional” 5–7–5–syllable format. We would love to accept modern haiku, contemporary haiku and traditional haiku of 5-7-5 as well.
3.)  Your submission must include your bio. We would not accept links to your Amazon Author Profile, blogs or FB pages as paperback format does not support the links. Please write a bio without the links.
4.) Send your email to 'authorsunited786@gmail.com' and 'authorsunited786@yahoo.com' (in cc) with “AU Haiku Submission - <Your Name>” in the Subject line. Do mention your name, state and country in your Haiku submission.
5.)   We will accept email with an attachment. Please do not send your submissions as a part of the body of the e-mail. Also your bio should be a separate attached file but in the same e-mail.
6.)  In case, any change is required we will revert the submission to the author before making any changes.
7.)  The authors will hold the publishing rights of their work after the anthology is published. But the author must give us the credit if the haiku is re-submitted. An author cannot submit the Haiku to any other blog/journal/contest until the anthology is published.
8.) The anthology will be published using Amazon - CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform in both “Paper Back” and “Kindle Version”.

Reviewing/ Selection Process by the editor 18th January, 2015.
Designing of the book and title finalization by “Author’s United” – 25th January, 2015.
Publishing Date –4th April, 2015.
